Week 5: Video Effects
This closing section of my final project uses stills and video that include my own image, but the visual effects are designed to draw the viewer closer, making her feel as though the words represent the "every-woman". Therefore, multiple images crossing each other with layered visuals showing through the brighter parts of the face signal a close and resolution to the story in contrast to the visual simplicity used to establish the message at the beginning.

These two layers are masked and duplicated so that different effects and filters can be applied to each to simulate movement.
One layer includes a cross zoom from full frame to small and the other from small to full frame for the effect of multiple facial and hair outlines moving in and out of each other. For the final shot, keyframe motion tracking simulates a lateral camera dolly movement from left to right.

Adjustments in Lumetri Color Curves make it possible to exaggerate dark parts of the image in contrast to light in the top two video layers. Along with adjustments to Opacity and Blend Mode set to Multiply, the images on the bottom layer are able to show through the brightest parts of the face, hat and hair.
I also combine Lumetri film settings, LUTS, Looks, Filters and other adjustments to create a bright retro-vintage ethereal vibe. In this screenshot you can see one of the flashframe transition effects. Popular in music video production, this type of transition lands on a musical beat and vocal emphasis at the beginning of a new phrase.
